| Meanwhile, back in New York... |

Okay, I lied...it's been more than "a couple days" since my last blog. Sorry, but so much has happened, & in fact, I'm already back in New York, "The City That Never Shuts Up."

Wanted to catch up on some photos I promised to post...here's a one of the cast with Ralph & Jimmi.
...one of Jimmi & Amelia Ampuro (who played Jimmi in the play).
...Mike Seeger visiting us backstage at the Mill Mountain Theatre
Not sure what's up with his hair, not that I can talk, with all that mascara...
...the jam in the Mill Mountain lobby.
...and of course further explorations in the eternal Horror of Hair Pomade.
Our second-to-last show was at the Paramount Theatre, in Bristol. Ralph & family came again, & he was as gracious & kind as usual. While we were back stage I looked up above the stage door & saw this autograph from Little Jimmy Dickens.
Lord knows how he got up there!
On my last day in Virginia we had a recording session at Classic Recording studio in Bristol for the Man of Constant Sorrow cast album. I hope to have some pictures from the session shortly, thanks to Brandon "The Hammer" Story, but meanwhile here's a photo of Chet Atkins' 1971 custom-built API mixing board, originally from the legendary RCA Studio B in Nashville, now used for it's mic pre's at Classic.
That ring of exposed metal on the lower right hand side is where Chet used to keep his bottle of Pepsi...it ate right through the paint! Think about that next time you order yourself a cola.
From what I understand, the CD has already been mastered & pressed, though I haven't seen it yet, but here's a scan of the promotional postcard the Barter Theatre is sending out. I'll let you know where & how you can purchase a copy for yourself.
Speaking of MOCS, the show will be featured in the Barter Theatre's 2006 season, & has been moved back from the Fall to the Spring, appearing on the main stage from April 21st to May 27th. Hope to see you there!
Next blog I'll tell you all about the Dixie Bee Liners showcase gig at the IBMA World of Bluegrass 2005 trade show, & our CD release party in The Big Crapple. Meanwhile, you can order your own copy of our CD from Miles of Music, your source for handpicked small label, self-released, indie and import Alt.country, Americana, Bluegrass, Roots Rock & Pop!
